Yet the journey to the centre of the earth musical production is certainly well worth listening to although admittedly very 70s. Originally I had a live performance of this masterpiece but alas it got taken down by Youtube. This version I think is from Rik Wakeman’s official Youtube channel so hopefully it won’t get taken down in the future.

OK so why have I included this song?? Well my late Dad had this song in one of his amateur plays and I remember him practising this song over and over again in our house. Now that he is no longer with us, whenever I hear it I do remember a very clear image of my Dad in our front room dancing around while trying to remember the words to this song.

Having said all that, the musical really is awful and this song is particularly bad in my view. Needless to say, I have spared you all from including it in the main Covid Island Playlists

This week the theme is going to be musicals. The first musical I fell in love with was Jesus Christ Superstar. As I have alluded to elsewhere, it was through this musical that I was first drawn to Christ even though most Christians would recognise that the musical portrayal of Jesus is not really Biblical because it strips Christ of his divinity and puts too much tension into his humanity in order to develop the musical drama.
