So this is another week that has mostly concert video footage. The only video that contains some thematic footage is Pink Floyd’s learning to fly so this is the song that get’s my vote this week as it does contain some interesting imagery interspersed with concert footage of the band doing their stuff.

No real competition this week. Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush at the time was a ground breaking song with a ground breaking video to boot. Kate Bush’s overall look and dancing is always absolutely mesmerising.

Two song videos that stand for me this week are: Take a little time by Amy Grant True faith, New Order It is difficult to split the two in terms of which one I prefer. The true faith video has spectacular imagery in it and I really like the sign language to the song lyrics.

This week is unusual is that only Lennon’s Beautiful boy is a themed video and given it is just his personal family videos it does not really qualify for any artistic praise (although still quite touching). In terms of the other videos of each band I guess I must go with the Beatles as this

So week 25 is a very big week in terms of high quality videos that accompany each song. The top three are definitely: Disco 2000 by Pulp Pacify her by Melanie Martinez The Final Cut by Pink Floyd I think out of these three, “Pacify her” by Melanie Martinez is perhaps the most interesting visually

Why does rain on me by Travis get’s my vote this week for the best video. Such a clever video yet not really connected closely to the song. The theme of the video reminds me somewhat of Joseph being sold into slavery by his brothers. Also love the bit where the band members ascend out

Another week with some very visually appealing videos. There are four strong contenders here: Because of you by Kelly Clarkson My Immortal by Evanescence Stay with me by Shakespears Sister No more I love you by Annie Lennox I think out of this list the Kelly Clarkson video is the best in that it captures

So this week most visually interesting video is “Knowing me, knowing you” by Abba. As mentioned in the main text for this song, it is a little unsettling that this song appears to be working through the slow burn disintegration of the band’s marriages through both the lyrics of the song and indeed the content

This week’s best video from a visual point of view goes to Michael Penn’s “No Myth” although a close second would be Fleetwoodmac’s “Tusk”. The Tusk video is interesting but the video quality is a little poor.
