So this week I think the best video visually is Sting’s “If you love someone set them free” as it uses a clever superimposition of the band members onto a performance room. However, some band members are fully present while others look like ghosts. Some are in colour while others are in black and white

The best video for this week is definitely Cyndi Lauper’s “Girl’s just want to have fun”. The video itself tells quite a funny story of the long suffering parents of a daughter who gathers up all and sundry from the her local street and ends up holding a massive party in her room.

I must confess the video imagery in this week’s play list is pretty average so my choice of best video this week goes to Stevie Wright’s Evie simply because it is filmed at the Sydney Opera house so like the Midnight Oil clip earlier in Covid Island Discs captures the beauty of Sydney harbour complete

This week contains some very interesting visual content in terms of the videos for each musical piece. From the usual spectacular concert lighting of Pink Floyd in “Comfortably Numb” to the image montage of Amy McDonald’s “4th of July” and Lorde’s “Royals”, through to the story telling videos of Kate Bush’s “This Woman’s work” or

So my favourite video from this week’s playlist is “One Night in Bangkok” from the musical chess. I like the glass chess board and the general chess paraphernalia. If only I could be good at this incredible game.

So this week didn’t really contain any arty videos so my vote this week goes to the Beatles Don’t let me down video just for the incongruency of seeing probably the greatest rock and roll band of all time having what looks like an impromptu jam on a London office block roof while office workers

So week 13 is a little tricky in terms of choosing my favourite video because there are two strong contenders: When Doves Cry by Prince and Total Eclipse of the heart by Bonnie Tyler. Both videos are very interesting to watch but I think if I had to choose, I would give first place to

Yes Like Evanescence, Lana produces pretty intense and visually interesting videos. Another dark video for a dark song about the existential crisis of our time finiteness even though “eternity has been set in our hearts“.

Another very easy choice for best video in terms of visuals in for week 11. Evanescence, Going Under: wow what an amazing band and what an amazing video.
