So I remember going to see Paul Simon at the Sydney entertainment centre back in the 1980s. It was one of those concerts which was truly better than anything I could have expected. At the time his “Rhythm of the Saints” album had just been released so the hits from that dominated the play list
At around the same time Prince released “When Doves Cry” (see yesterday’s post) this song also made it into the Aussie charts. Again this song is strongly associated with my time at Sydney University. Looking back, they certainly were some of the happiest days of my life. I wonder if Bonnie needed some throat sweets
This song was released when I was in first year at Sydney University. Still have such a distinct memory of listening to it with my biology class mates in the Carslaw building. I wonder what became of all those folks? Sadly my guess is that probably like Prince, some of them are no longer with
Time for some more Dire Straits I feel. Something to make you all feel jolly.
